Horse-drawn carriage tour


Take a 30 minute tour of Amherst's gracious Victorian neighbourhoods in an antique carriage drawn by two beautiful Percheron horses.  Each carriage seats four adults. Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour start time.  We depart from the parking lot behind Town Hall, at the corner of Victoria St. E. and Laplanche St. Bring whatever you think you'll need for your comfort, such as sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle. There are no seatbelts in the carriage. All passengers must be able to maintain balance in the seat as the carriage moves from side to side, and stops and starts. Not recommended for infants or very young children.

2019 Trailblazers Wilderness Survival Camp (Ages 9-12)


It’s time to put down the cell phones and put the video games away! We want your kids to learn to have fun with nothing but the great outdoors! This week long camp will teach them everything they need to know to survive in the wilderness and how to have fun while doing it! Some of the essential survival skills being taught will include shelter building, water purifying, fire education, edible and poisonous plants identification, tracking, and basic survival first aid. This camp will be sure to teach the campers just how awesome the outdoors can be! Farm Research Field Day


Wysmykal Farm is one of 7 farms in Atlantic Canada leading innovative on-farm research projects to adapt and improve varieties of our favourite crops, in partnership with USC Canada. This field day will feature a farm tour and talks by farmers Charles and Jessy, as well visiting researcher, Helen Jensen of USC Canada. We'll hear about their on-farm variety trials (orange Nantes storage carrots), how on-farm research is contributing to a national plant breeding program, and why farms are such important innovation hubs for plant breeding. All are welcome to this free event, especially organic and ecological farmers who have an interest in conducting trials and research on their own farms. Thank you for pre-registering on this site!
