Diocesan Governor Training - Update and Input

You are warmly invited to book into one of the upcoming Diocesan Governor Training events. These are open to all governors from all schools within the diocese and you are free to attend whichever event suits you best. You may have attended one of these events in the past, or this may be your first invitation, either way we would love to see you at one of the sessions. The sessions will be led by David Thorpe (senior schools advisor) and Liam Eaglestone (schools advisor for governance and admissions). As well as updates and input from David and Liam on areas such as the new DfE Governance Handbook, the new Ofsted Framework, the new(ish) SIAMS Inspection Framework, there will be lots of opportunity for discussion. We will specifically be seeking feedback around possible future sessions for governors, as well as highlighting numerous governor support and training possibilities. Parking is available on a first come first served basis and there will be tea and coffee refreshments provided throughout the evening. An agenda of the evening is available upon request.

Pop Up Guide To Life In Space (NLW)

A long time ago in a library far, far away… The year is 2069 (100 years since the first moon landing) and due to a falling out with the rest of the world (in no way is this a political reference) Britain is running out of ‘space’!! With all other avenues exhausted the moon is the only place left that the people of Britain can live, but what’s it going to be like to live on the moon? A nationwide competition is held to produce The Definitive Guide to Intergalactic Living. The winners of the competition will receive a rent free, fully furnished luxury crater on the moon. So enter our three intrepid Sci-Fi geeks Gordon, Kirk and Albert. Throughout their lives they have been crowded out and ridiculed by the ‘popular kids’ for their love of all things Sci-Fi. But now they have a chance to put their expertise to good use. So give them ‘space’ as they look to ‘chase’ their dreams and we launch the 2019 Summer Reading Challenge. Integrated BSL performance.

Prospects Unwrapped - "Toy Re-Story" Table Top Sale

We firmly believe all toys deserve to be played with (again and again and again).  We also know that babies, toddlers and children grow and their needs to learn through play change.  To stop a world of wasted playtime and landfills of broken toys why not clear out your toy cupboards, bookshelves and sheds - book a table - and sell on to new families who can re-love your pre-loved toys.  You will be doing your bit for the environment, supporting a local good cause - Prospects Trust Unwrapped AND refilling your wallet for the next play phase.   The entrance to buyers will be free and the cost per sellers pitch is £5 which (minus Eventbrite Fees) will be directly donated to Prospects Trust Unwrapped an exciting new venture coming to Ely.   Refreshments, cakes and raffle tickets will also be on sale during the event as well as a chance to find out more about Prospects Trust Unwrapped.   FAQs   Are there any minimum age requirements to enter the event? The event is free to enter but we do ask that children are accompanied by an adult (over 18).  All stall holders must be booked by an adult and all stalls to be supported by a responsible adult at all times.  What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? For stall holders we can offer a drop off and unload zone at 11am. There is no onsite guaranteed parking and for all buyers we recomend a nice healthy walk to the sale, a bike ride (with basket or panniers for all your new toys) or take a look at the various FREE car parks Ely has to offer: https://www.lighthouse-ely.org/images/bits/Wheretopark.pdf  What can I bring into the event? Stall Holders - You will be given a table plus one chair. You are allowed to use the space in front/under/on top of the table to re-sell your pre-loved toys, childrens books and baby kit. If you are planning on selling more than a table amount please book a double pitch. Buyers - come with plenty of loose change and notes to snap up a bargain, buy a cuppa, a slice of cake or even a raffle ticket or two.  Don't forget to bring your bags to take all your booty home!   How can I contact the organiser with any questions? This is an event run by The Prospects Trust and Prospects Unwrapped - for more details or to contact a member of the team call us on 01638 741551 before the event. www.prospectstrust.org.uk for more details.   Is my pitch transferrable? Yes! We are charging a donation of £5 per pitch which is being donated (minus Eventbrite Fees) to Prospects Trust Unwrapped. If you  have booked a table but cannot attend you may pass on the pitch to a friend or family member - just ensure you pass on your booking confirmation so we can tick you off on our list on the day. Each table will have the name of the lead booking clearly displayed at 11am.
