Business Networking in Dumfries and Galloway

You are invited to an information meeting of the Heroes chapter of BNI where BNI Director Jonathan Wood, will share BNI’s secrets to success through "word-of-mouth" marketing. BNI is a business and professional networking organization whose primary purpose is to exchange qualified business referrals. It is the most successful organization of its type in the world today, with over 9000 chapters in operation in 73 countries and 253,000 members. Last year members of BNI passed 6.6 million referrals, which generated more than $10 billion worth of business globally. What makes BNI unique is that it allows only one person per profession to join a chapter. Thus, once you've joined, there is no conflict in passing business referrals, and none of your competitors can participate! The Heroes chapter is currently looking for good quality companies to refer business to.We would like to invite you to the business meeting so you can learn more about the organization, and find out if you would be interested in generating a steady source of referral business for yourself. Remember to bring plenty of business cards to pass around, as you will meet a lot of local business people. Whilst this is a free event, there is a nominal £10.00 meeting fee to cover the venue costs which does include breakfast and refreshments. If you have any questions, please contact us on 07867 122882 or by email to [email protected]

Dean Friedman - In Concert - Dumfries

Hailed by critics and fans alike as a one of the finest songwriters of his generation, Dean Friedman has achieved legendary, pop-icon status for chart-topping hits, Ariel, Lucky Stars, Lydia, McDonald’s Girl and more. Following last year’s sold-out, 40th Anniversary Tour, Friedman returns to the stage armed with a stunning collection of his insightful and compelling, true-to-life ‘story songs’ - songs of pathos and humor that deal with family, friends, neighbors, work and the seemingly trivial, yet ultimately essential stuff of everyday life. "Soundtrack of our lives!" – NYTimes; "Songsmith extraordinaire!” – MusicWeek; “Dean Friedman is entirely unique and utterly brilliant” – ThreeWeeks; “Stunning Musicianship!” - Hot Press In addition to his familiar radio hits, album releases and touring, Friedman composes and produces music soundtracks for TV and film, including the music to the hit Central TV series BOON, NBC’s Eerie Indiana, Nickelodeon’s Nick Arcade and the indie horror classic, ‘I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle’. He’s also published a respected tome on the art and craft of songwriting titled, ‘The Songwriter’s Handbook’, based on songwriting workshops and songwriting masterclasses he’s conducted at universities and music conservatories around the world, including L.I.P.A. (the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts). A consummate entertainer, Friedman will be performing solo, on guitar and keyboard, featuring songs from throughout his four-decade career, including familiar, radio hits and fan favorites, drawn from his eight studio albums. Invite family and friends and join Friedman for an evening of powerful, poignant and hilarious songs about the ordinary and extraordinary lives we share. www.DeanFriedman.com

Sabbra Cadabra - 50th Anniversary Sabbath Show - DUMFRIES 16NOV69-16NOV19

BLACK SABBATH 50th ANNIVERSARY SHOW AT DUMFRIES! 50 YEARS TO THE DAY...If you can't have the original Black Sabbath to celebrate 50 years since they played Rugmans Youth Club in Dumfries...get the next best thing! Sabbra Cadabra are the UK's best and most authentic Black Sabbath tribute and they are bringing a 2 hour show of Black Sabbath classics (INCLUDING THE CLASSIC DEBUT ALBUM IN FULL!) to one of their 'spiritual homes' - Rugmans played host to Sabbath on 16th November 1969. Sabbra Cadabra want to pay tribute to Dumfries' support for the first incarnations of the band when they were still known as Earth and then Black Sabbath. Sadly, Rugmans is long gone, but following this January's show at The Venue by Sabbra Cadabra to rave reviews, this event will SELL FAST! Sabbra Cadabra are the finest UK tribute to Sabbath, they only play Sabbath classics from the Ozzy era. They don't play Ozzy solo tunes, no Zakk Wylde or Randy Rhoads style versions, no dodgy 'pub-band' versions, no dodgy wigs, no changing the keys from the originals - just two hours of classic Sabbath, played like Sabbath, sounds like Sabbath. NOT TO BE MISSED! DOORS 8pm, Sabbra Cadabra 9pm-11pm
