Managing the Wibbles and Wobbles of Anxiety workshop- For Children aged 5-11 years and their parents

Standing in the Gap are a small charity working with families in Banbury. Our aim is to help children aged 0-11 years manage BIG emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety and grief.  Building on the huge success of our 'Preparing your child for Secondary school' talks we now have a talk for ALL children aged 5-11 years within Banbury.  We have secured a grant from AVIVA to offer FREE parent and child workshops in Banbury for any children aged 5-11 years who experience the Wibbles and Wobbles of anxiety. If your child is anxious and its having an impact on the way you and they 'do life' please come along. Anxiety is on the rise and often as parents we don't know how to help our kids.  The workshop will look at: What is anxiety? What should i do if I'm anxious? What techniques can help me manage this? Is there anything that makes it worse? When do I need more help? This workshop is suitable for adults and children. Due to space please ONLY bring the child who is anxious with you, we do not have capacity to supervise other children. When you book tickets, please book for EACH person who is attending. It is an interactive workshop ran by very experienced staff, if your child does not want to participate that is absolutely fine. They will still benefit from attending and enjoying the time with us.  The talk is free but if you find it useful we do ask that you make a donation to enable us to keep providing this valuable service. You can also purchase a workbook and anxiety pack to help your child moving forward after the workshop.

Soap Making Courses

Learn the Art of Artisanal Soap Making | Perfect Vegan Friendly Gifts Baffled as to why you couldn’t pick up a bar or bottle of pure organic natural soap amid the weekly supermarket shop – Emma Heathcote-James, founder of Little Soap, wants to impact the cosmetics industry similar to the way Jamie Oliver has impacted the food industry; Emma wants to get the world back to basics, creating the purest organic cruelty free soap she believes possible, and making it accessible to everyone.  You can also learn how to make natural soap that would be perfect for dry, and sensitive skin.  Intro to cold processed soap making course* We will cover:     Brief history and basic chemistry of soap making     Everything you need to get started: materials, ingredients and equipment and stockists     Safety aspects of working with sodium hydroxide     Preparation of your moulds and various moulding options     Using additives in soap such as flowers, seeds, oats, oxides, herbs, spices & clays     Adding nutrient oils for various skin conditions     Blending pure essential oils for fragrance     Mixing, the insulating myth, cutting, curing and storing your finished soap     Ideas for your packaging/labels etc     The legalities of selling your soaps We’ll start the day (normally 10.30am) with tea or coffee and M’hencha cake where you will be given your Little Soap Company goody bag, lunch voucher and notes for the day. The morning is spent quickly talking you through the theory and making demo batches, but we believe you learn by doing, so you’re let loose after lunch to get your hands messy mixing your own batches! You’ll go home laden with your creations and all the skills needed to either make soaps for your friends and family hereon in or even take it a step further and create your own small business… soap making is one of the few hobbies that costs very little to set up (around £30 in base oils, gloves, goggles and a thermometer – other equipment you’ll already have at home). And the day doesn’t end there…. we are not going anywhere and we are passionate in wanting the world to use proper soap – so if you get stuck when you get home or a few months down the line have any questions then you’ll have our numbers and email and we love to hear how you’re going and to keep in touch and will help with any glitches or questions! We also offer: * Bespoke Soap Making * One to one Soap Making (* Please select which course you wish to book when completing your booking information) Terms & Conditions Course dates are as stated and run on week days between 10.30-4pm.  Please ensure that you have read and understood our Terms & Conditions prior to booking "Amazing day, memories made that will last a life-time."
