High Street Poetry

Come and join us for an evening of spoken word in the cosy surroundings of Ely's Caffe Nero.  Doors will be at 7pm and the event will start at 7.30 promptly - time for you to purchase your favourite drink and treat before we begin (a further interval will be available later). The evening will be a mixture of invited poets and pre-booked open mic. Please note that open mic slots are limited, and if over subscribed, names will be drawn from a hat. This will be done prior to the event so that poets have time to prepare!  Due to time restraints, open mic slots will also be timed. Though tickets are free, we are inviting donations to raise money for Caffe Nero's charitable foundation, funding literacy and education projects throughout their growing areas.  *********************Featured Poets************************** Excited to announce that this evening will feature poetry from:Dominic O'Sullivan Stewart Carswell Caron Freeborn Elaine Ewart James Stubbins  Delighted to be part of Ely Arts Festival 2019    FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Caffe Nero is an "all age" venue but we would remind you that poetry can deal with a variety of topics in a variety of language. Therefore the organiser advises discretion when it comes to younger children.  What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? The venue is fully accessible and all poets will be asked to use the microphone to make it accessible for those with hearing difficulties. Transport to Ely is easy by train (the venue is a 10-15 minute walk from the station) and bus and there are a number of free car parks near the venue. Please be aware of local parking restrictions should you park in the high street itself.  What can I bring into the event? Please buy your refreshments from the venue. If you are attending as a poet and have merchandise to sell, this is fine but please advise the organiser accordingly.  How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Preferably by email: [email protected]   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? This event will have a mixture of printed tickets available in store and tickets available at this online point. You WILL need a ticket to enter this event.
