Healthy Coffee Morning - Deepings


Weekly information, motivation and support to help you change your habits for good. Come along for weekly informal presentations, recipes, handouts, sample smoothies, healthy treats, and tips and tricks for improving your diet, health and well being. The groups are about the information and the 'doing'. Sometimes we can have all the information but struggle to actually implement the new habits that will get you to where you want to be. The groups are run in a friendly and relaxed environment where you can ask questions and chat with other people also trying to improve their eating and live healthier lives. The Healthy Coffee Mornings will help you sort through all the conflicting advice, support you to make the changes and provide the motivation to keep you consistent and really make the difference for youself.

Code Club @Vivacity - Scratch, html and Python (Bretton Library)


Get lost in space, have a chat with your computer and build your own racing game! What? At Code Club young coders (recommended ages 7-11) will learn how to program simple games and animations using the visual, block-based programming language Scratch. Our Code Club volunteers will be on hand to help them work their way through exciting coding projects which will gradually extend their skills and increase their confidence. The Code Club curriculum consists of a set of projects with step-by-step instructions, but children are equally welcome to bring their own ideas, projects and creativity! Children can also have a go at our more advanced projects using html or Python coding When? Code Club at Bretton Library runs every other Saturday from 2 to 3:15 PM. Sessions take place on the following dates: AUTUMN 2018 DATES 22 September 6 October 20 October 3 November 17 November 1 December 15 December SPRING 2019 DATES (ADDED) 12 January 24 January 9 February 23 February 9 March 23 March 6 April The sessions are aimed at complete beginners - no prior experience of coding or Scratch is required, but your child should be able to read instructions and have basic keyboard/computing skills.  To book a place Places for Code Club are free but limited!  A maximum of two places can be booked per booking. Tickets are only required for the young coders - parents/carers are welcome to stay and help out (and learn!) without needing to book a place. Please book for each session your child(ren) will attend. Should the Club be fully booked, your child will be placed on a waiting list, and you will be contacted as soon as a space opens due to cancellations or non-attendance.

Key points from the Workshop This one day workshop is designed to teach you, through doing, so you can expect practical interactive activity as the day unfolds. We will explore the value of short runs, low production inventory and how it can impact your business with rapid response times. You will learn simple practical methods for analysing your changeovers and setups, then how to identify the various wastes and build trial plans for testing new setups or changeovers. It is well understood that long changeover times lead to large batches in production and poor time utilisation in many industries. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Production managers, production supervisors, process engineers, continuous improvement personnel, shop floor team leaders, set-up personnel and operators from industries in Manufacturing, Distribution and Logistics. IWA Peterborough Canal Cleanup


IWA Peterborough Branch – Work parties clearing vegetation on Horseways Channel and carrying out maintenance of Horseways Lock. 10am to 3pm - twice a month. Personal Protective clothing and tools are provided but it is advisable to wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing. Hot drinks are provided in the branch gazebo. As there are no facilities nearby you are advised to bring a packed lunch. Access is via, and by permission of, Allpress Farms, Byall Fen Drove (B1093), PE16 6XQ.
