Moray Speyside Tourism BID - Engagement Event (Aberlour)

A Brighter Future | Moray Speyside Tourism Business Improvement District  Since 2014, Moray Speyside Tourism has promoted our region, supported local tourism businesses and represented the region’s tourism industry at national level. During this time the annual value of tourism to the Moray Speyside economy has grown by almost £30 million and is now worth £130 million per year. But the future of our tourism industry is not secure; competition from other areas is fierce and Moray Speyside Tourism’s funding comes to an end in December, leaving Moray Speyside without an organisation dedicated to promoting our region, leaving your business without a voice at national level and without an advocate fighting for your interests. A Tourism Business Improvement District (Tourism BID) is a new way of investing in Moray’s tourism industry which would result in: More investment in the region’s tourism industry More UK and international marketing More support for your business 100% accountable to you, the members. Come along and find out how this exciting project can benefit your tourism business, and learn how with your support, we can secure the future of Moray Speyside as a world-class tourism destination. ** Please note this FREE event is specifically aimed at tourism operators (including Accommodation providers, Activities, Visitor Centres, Distilleries) who are registered as businesses within the Moray Council area and who have a rateable value of £2000 or more.

Abstract in Oil with Julia Law - a MAC Summer School course

Julia Law Abstract in Oil 29th July to 2nd August, 2019 The course Using colour, line, marks, texture, tone and glazes to create expressionist images that might be abstracted from a thought, feeling, narrative, the landscape or any other subject. We will be using oil paint and canvas following traditional techniques used by artists for centuries. Oil is a forgiving medium that allows the user to add, subtract, enhance and change the image as many times as is required to reach the desired conclusion. We will be creating at least one complete work, but most likely more. It really depends on the individual. These are coached sessions, where you will be offered guidance and where needed, instructed on process and technique, colour mixing and mark making. The key is to find an individual, visual representation of your chosen subject, whatever that might be at the same time as developing your style. The tutor Julia (BAhons 1st) studied Fine Art De Montfort,  she has exhibited extensively in northern England and had her work featured in several publications. She is a retired teacher but still tutors art locally and runs workshops from time to time.  This course forms part of Moray Art Centre's Summer School programme. Light lunches and refreshments will be provided for participants in all courses. If you require overnight accommodation the following link may prove helpful. http://findhorn.cc/services/bed-breakfast-list/ The price of this course hasnow been reduced to £250. Payment - Eventbrite Payments can be made simply and easily using this website. Alternatively, we have set up a laptop in our creative lounge were you may, with help from our staff, book on the course or courses of your choice. Do I need to use Eventbrite? This business won numerous awards and was often quoted and referenced by Print Media as a “success story”, and it was. What went wrong?  How could an award winning, multi million pound business fail on its 20th Birthday?  How could a business that enjoyed CASH reserves of half a million pounds and a property portfolio of £1.4m possibly fail? How’s that even possible? How To Wreck Your Business finally reveals all. The mistakes that were made are not always obvious. This monthly programme gives YOU the benefit of hindsight.
