Hydroseeding (hydraulic mulch seeding, hydraulically applied seedling) is a planting process that uses a slurry of seed and mulch. The slurry is transported in a truck, tank, or trailer and sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. Hydraulic mulch seeding applies a combination of seed, mulch (usually wood cellulose), a tackifier (to help the mulch stay in place until it decomposes), and water. The slurry may also contain other additives, including nutrients and plant growth regulators.
