Working alongside the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020 (AMLA) and other laws, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) provides strong protections for whistleblowers who report a wide range of statutory and regulatory offenses—from failure to file suspicious activity reports (SARs) to international sanctions violations. To secure these protections, however, whistleblowers must ensure that they come forward in a timely manner and through the appropriate channels.
