Tommy and Kathy Pappas opened a Greek-American restaurant called Tommy's Diner in 1989 in Franklinton just west of the Mt Carmel West complex and across the street from the landmark Florentine restaurant. The restaurant has a loyal following that even helped save artifacts from the wall as it burned in 1998.
