Anglican Diocese Of Southern Malawi

The Diocese of Southern Malawi was established in the year 2002 as a result of the rationalization and split of the then Diocese of Southern Malawi into two Dioceses, which are Upper Shire and Southern Malawi. The first Diocesan Synod of the New Diocese of Southern Malawi was held at Chilema on 4th May 2002.
The boundaries of the Diocese are the rivers Namadzi, Phalombe and Shire. The area covers the administrative districts of Blantyre, Chikwawa, Chiradzulu, Mulanje, Nsanje, Phalombe and Thyolo.
