About Us

The Elephant House is a gourmet tea and coffee shop located in the heart of historic Edinburgh. It became famous since its 1995 opening as the place of inspiration for writers such as J.K. Rowling, Ian Rankin and Alexander McCall-Smith. The back room has lovely views of Edinburgh Castle and the old town for that relaxing cup of coffee or tea.
