Altius was established in 2016 by Doug Jones, a physiotherapist with more than 17 years working for Sale Sharks, London Wasps, England rugby and in private practice. The inspiration behind Altius came when Doug was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and the experience and support that he received on his road to recovery following surgery.
