Most skincare has traditionally focused on the surface of the skin. Products were designed to cleanse, exfoliate, brighten, or moisturize, with little attention to how skin actually functions as part of the body.

At Cham, we started by looking at what science has long established: Skin is not isolated. It is closely connected to the nervous system and responds to stress, inflammation, and recovery signals that originate below the surface.

This understanding comes from the foundations of neuroscience. In the late nineteenth century, Santiago Ramón y Cajal demonstrated that the nervous system is made of individual cells that communicate through defined pathways. His work helped establish how signals travel through the body and influence biological response.
