Random Video Chat, AI, and Why Things Feel Different Online Lately

I used to open random video chat sites without thinking much about it. You clicked, someone showed up, and that was it. No profile to read, no expectations to manage. Sometimes it worked, most of the time it did not, but it never felt fake.

A lot of chats ended quickly. Some were strange, some were actually fun, and plenty of them just faded out. Still, you knew there was a real person on the other side, and that alone made it feel different from most online conversations.

Then things slowly changed.

Bots started showing up more often. Fake accounts became harder to avoid. You would open a chat and almost immediately feel something was off. After enough of those moments, you stop clicking the button. Not because the idea is bad, but because the experience stopped being enjoyable.
